Welcome back from spring break! I hope everyone had a wonderful break with their family and friends! I heard all about the fun activities my friends did over break! This week we talked all about the season spring! We talked about plants and animals in spring.
On Monday in art we colored a bird house pictures with the numbers 1-10 on it. We then cut it apart and put it back together like a puzzle. This was a good activity that worked with their fine motor skills.
In discovery center this week we sorted seeds! We really enjoyed looking at the seeds closely and comparing them. We also played with the scale and bugs.
We are continuing to strengthen our knowledge of our letters and the sounds they make! This week we talked about the letter W and the sound w makes. We also did a spring sheet, where we had to color in the letter that the picture started with. For example: "F is for flower or b is for bird".
On Tuesday we made a bird nest for art! We again practiced our fine motor skills by ripping brown paper for our nest.
Since we learned about plants in spring, we also learned about the different parts of plants! We did an activity where they had to cut and label the parts of a flower. They all did so well with this! They would look at the work and sound it out, to determine where the label goes on the flower. We were proud of them, so they are hanging in the hallway for all to see.
