This week we talked all about Thanksgiving and Turkeys again to get us excited about the holiday.
On Monday we talked about our shapes and started our shape turkey for art. We colored each shape to make our shape turkey. In discovery center we practiced our teen number recognition and matched the feathers to the correct sport on our turkey.
On Tuesday we read a book called This Turkey, On each page, we had to color and count the correct number of feathers. We really enjoyed this activity! In discovery center on Tuesday we spent so more time focusing on our teen number recognition. We did a fun sheet where they had to use different colors to trace each of their numbers. They really concentrated hard on this activity!
On Wednesday in morning circle we talked about the First Thanksgiving. We talked about how the Pilgrims came and about the Indians. We talked about how the Indians had to hunt for food. We got to look at some furs of different animals that the Indians may have hunted and used for food. They loved this! We also made some Thanksgiving hats this day as well!
Our igloo is up and ready! Some of us have already had a chance to play in it, but on Monday it will officially be ready for everyone to play in!
