Happy Birthday Dr. Suess! This week we are really enjoying talking all about Dr. Suess! We are loving his fun and silly books! We have been talking about what an author does!
On Monday we read the book "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish". We thought this book was a lot of fun! We thought some of Dr. Suess' rhymes were funny! To go along with the book we made fish bowls for art at center time.
Because March started this week, we were introduced to some new items in our centers. In our listening center we have St. Patrick's day themed books. In our sensory bin we have Easter grass, foam shamrocks, and plastic gold coins. We love this sensory bin!
This week in discovery we rolled two dice, added the number of dots together, and then found the numbers of the 'Cat in the Hat' hat. This week at our writing center, we practiced our rhyming, and we used our pocket chart to practice our uppercase and lowercase letters. We also practiced the our letter sounds by the pictures that went with our letters.
On Tuesday we read "The Lorax" and learned all about the importance of trees for our world. We made a cute poster about the story to hang in the hallway. They turned out adorable.
On Tuesday we counted our t's! We practiced writing the number 6 since we found 6 t's! Our T project this week was "T is for tree." We made our T into a tree and we also practiced writing the sentence "T is for tree" on our sheet.
Today we read "Green Eggs and Ham" We thought this book was super funny! To celebrate this book we had a special visitor drop off a fun snack! Sam I Am left us a fun green eggs and ham recipe. We talked about what a recipe is and then we made it. He left us green eggs and ham trail mix. We thought this snack was pretty yummy.
