Welcome Julian! Julian joined our class this week! We are enjoying having another boy in our class! Welcome again Julian!
This week we had a blast playing in the snow and learning all about different winter sports we can participate in to stay healthy and active during the winter. This week when we playing outside we loved playing on the giant snow hills outside. We went sledding down them and dug holes!
This week we worked extra hard on getting back into our school routine. In the morning for check in, we are continuing to trace our first names, but we have added our last names as well! We have also been working on reminding each other what our carpet and hallway rules are. We also began learning a new song at our morning circle time. We not only are continuing to sing our days of the week, but we now are learning our months of the year!
This week with all of our snow gear, we are working on putting our winter gear on in the correct order! We are doing really well with learning how we should put our snow gear on.
This week in sensory we have a January themed bin. We are having fun feeling the different textures of rocks, marbles, and gems.
This week for writing center we are working on writing words and being able to think in a complete sentence. We wrote about our favorite winter sport. We will be finishing up with this next week. I cannot wait to put it into a book for our classroom library. This week we also worked hard on learning the letter L!
This week for art we laced ice skates and then watercolored them! We really enjoyed using our fine motor skills to lace up our skates. We also worked on our L page for our ABC book.
This week in our discovery center we practiced counting with finding our hidden L's on a page. We also had fun using the scale and ice cubes to look at which is lighter/heavier.
In our game center we have all new puzzles and games to start the school year. We have been really enjoying our Elsa and Paw Patrol puzzles the best. We have a new Dora ABC game that is a big hit! We are working on recognizing our letters and the sounds they make.
On Tuesday we were introduced to sight words! We practiced saying them, finding them in a sentence, and then coloring them with a certain color. We are also getting the concept of a period at the end of a sentence as well.
In gym this week we learned a new game. We learned. "What Time is it Mr. Fox?" With this game we worked on our listening and counting skills. It was a lot of fun.
