Hello Families!
This week we are talking all about polar animals. On Monday we received a package from the north pole. It was our friend Buddy the elf! Buddy will be in our classroom watching over us until Christmas. He is reporting our good behavior to Santa. We are really enjoying having him in our classroom!
On Monday we read about Elf on the Shelf and watched the movie to go with it. They really enjoyed it and it helped them to understand more about the elf duties.
In sensory this week we have water beads that are winter colors! We are loving the feel of them. Some of them tell me they feel wet, slimy, or sticky.
Our igloo is open this week and we have turned it into Christmas village! We are enjoying being reindeer, Santa, and his elves. We are also having fun delivering presents!
We learned all about the polar bear on Monday. For discovery we did a parts of the polar bear cutting and gluing activity.
On Monday we also worked on our direction words. We colored a winter scene, based on what the direction words said. We also did a color by number activity which they had fun with.
We have some new games in our classroom! We were introduced to winter matching and Don't spill the beans today. We did really well playing together and cooperating.
Today in discovery center we were introducing to the scale. We used ice cubes to play with the scale. We learned that when there are more on one side, the scale goes down, because of the weight.
In writing center today we practiced writing letters to Santa. We learned how to spell his name too!
In art today we puffy painted polar bears! They turned out really cute!
