Happy St. Patrick's Day! What a fun and exciting week we had! We were looking forward to a leprechaun every day! This week we talked about St. Patrick's Day, what a leprechaun is, about rainbows, and about the letter V.
This week after talking about rainbows, we did a rainbow rhyming worksheet. We had to color the two pictures that rhymed together in the row. We did really well! We are rock star rhymers!
This week we have been working on a writing craft about "If I Caught A Leprechaun".... We practiced writing the sounds we heard in the words we wanted to say. These all turned out really cute and are hanging in the hallway for everyone to see!
This week our V craft was V is for volcano! We did a really good job making the lava red, yellow, and orange!
On Wednesday we got a doll house in our classroom! Our three old friends were rearranging their room and they said we could have it in our room for a little while. We are having a blast with it!
On Wednesday we worked together as a class to make a trap to catch the leprechaun. We ended up building a nice little house for the leprechaun to sleep in. :) We also worked our writing skills by writing "Please Don't Touch" so that other friends and our school cleaners would not break it down.
On Wednesday in discovery center we found out letter V's and practiced writing the number 4.
On Thursday we had a day filled with fun and surprises! This morning we found that we did not catch a leprechaun, however he did mess up our trap, leave his footprints on our table, and he left us a nice note with a fun game! Larry the leprechaun left us on a wild chase around the school looking for his gold. Clue after clue we finally found where he left our treat! He didn't want to share his really gold with us, but he did give us chocolate gold, which is pretty great too!
Today we painted our clay figures from school spirit week, we cannot wait till they are fired and they return to us!
Today we also made our V crowns and colored pictures that start with the letter V sound.
