This week we had a blast learning about the letter U, as well as different Jungle animals. On Monday we came up with a list of what animals live in the jungle and we read about the different ones.
On Monday for art we made a giraffe. We had a blast coloring them and making them look like giraffes. In discovery on Monday we practiced our counting skills, writing our numbers, and coloring our shapes on our lion shape graph. It was a lot of fun. We are doing well with writing our numbers. After we are done with the alphabet, we will continue to work on our letters, but we will also dive into writing our numbers more as well.
In gym this week on Tuesday, we practiced our throwing and catching skills with a partner. We had a blast with this! We played scoop ball! It was a lot of fun! Lots of giggles and smiles in gym!
This week with the letter U, we practiced writing it, finding it, and the sound the letter u makes, and sorted them between uppercase and lowercase.
100th day of school was a blast!! We were very busy! We loved being 100 day superheros and wearing our capes! We also made 100 day crowns we wore too! Our capes turned out amazing! Everyone was very creative! For our 100 day snack, we had to count out 10 of everything to put together our trail mix. They all did a wonderful job counting their food items. They concentrated very well! For one of our centers on the 100th day of school, we used our fine motor skills to make necklaces. We were making patterns and working really hard on those as well!
We had buddies this week with our first and second grade friends. This time with our buddies, we made a cute leprechaun and wrote about a time when we feel lucky. Some of our examples are:
- "I feel lucky when my mom hugs me."
- " I feel lucky when I give my mom some kisses."
- "I feel lucky when I go to a hotel."
They turned out really cute! They are hanging up for everyone to see right now. I cannot wait to send them home, so you can see them as well!
