This week in 4k we continued to work on our numbers and we talked all about the zoo! We read a lot of different books about the zoo, and learned about the different animals we see there as well.
Fun news on the playground this week! We have a bird nest that has two tiny baby robins in it! We have been taking pictures to show the progress of their growth! We really enjoying looking at these pictures and watching these babies grow! :)
In our discovery center with week, we used pattern blocks to make different zoo animals-we loved playing with all the different shapes. We thought it was interesting how when you put shapes together, it makes things... like zoo animals!
In art on Monday and Tuesday, we worked on our peacocks! We colored a coffee filter, made a face on our body, and then on Tuesday we put it all together. We also added detail to our peacocks on Tuesday. They turned out really cute and are hanging in the hallway for all to see!
On Tuesday we worked on our patterning skills. We had different patterns with zoo animals. We worked on cutting out the zoo animals and putting them where they needed to go on our pattern sheet.
Since we are working hard on our numbers these last couple of weeks, this week we worked on a zoo counting book. On each page we had to count the number of zoo animals and then practice writing that number. We also colored our pictures and worked hard on thinking about what color to color certain animals.
On Thursday to close up zoo week, we made zoo cages for a fun snack! We spread out frosting on our graham crackers and we put animal crackers in our "cage". We thought this was a fun and delicious snack!
This week we had a blast with our ABC countdown! We loved dressing in our Packer clothes, wearing our PJ's, coloring quietly under our desks, and getting new table spots!
