We have been having a great week in 4k! Despite our excitement for Halloween, we have been having some excellent behavior! This week we have been really focusing on keeping our hands to ourselves and staying quiet in the hallway, when we are waiting for the bathroom. I am so proud of how their hallway behavior has improved this week! They are all standing in a line and quiet, while they wait their turn.
This week we have also been working really hard on zipping our coats by ourselves. Most of us can zip it, if I start it. Please work on this with your child at home! We are getting close to being able to do it all by ourselves completely!
Snacks this week are provided by Aubrie. Thank you Aubrie for such healthy and creative snacks! We have been super excited about our snacks this week! Thank you everyone for providing weekly snacks for 4k.
This week in sensory we have popcorn seeds and pumpkin seeds! We are continuing to use thew tweezers to practice our fine motor skills. This week I have added a dice in the sensory bin. They have to roll the dice and pick out that many seeds, using the tweezers. It has been a fun center to go to!
In dramatic play area we have added a grocery cart and a highchair for our dolls. We have been using our imagination this week and playing grocery store in dramatic play,
In writing center we have been working hard on tracing and recognizing our letters.
This week we have been talking about the letter F. On Monday we water colored a fish for our ABC book. Today we practiced writing an uppercase and lowercase F in our handwriting notebooks. Everyone is working so hard at writing their letters correctly!
In discovery center this week we have our counting Halloween puzzles out. We have three different ones that deal with counting dots and matching it to the correct number! Today we did a What comes next? counting activity. They have to recognize what number comes next in a sequence. This activity really helped strengthen our number recognition.
Due to the rain today we had to have indoor recess. We danced to a skeleton song and did some "Go Noodle" exercises.
This week during snack we have been watching Curious George's Halloween Movie. We have really been enjoying it and cannot wait to finish it tomorrow.
Thank you to everyone who came to Fall Family Fun Night last night! It was great to see all of the families enjoying Halloween fun! I hope everyone had a great time!
